I'm unworthy; You still love me.

  1. All relationships have one law: Never make the one you love feel alone, especially when you’re there.
  2. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.
  3. Yes, I am a Christian. Yes, I can be the biggest hypocrite ever. I backslide, I stumble. I fall. I stray onto the wrong path. But God is working in me. I may be a mess, but I’m His mess. And He is slowly straightening me out. And the day will come when I will be by His side, His work in me completed. And until that day, I will take His hand, and let him do in me whatever needs to be done, no matter how painful it will be for me. When He is finished, it will be all worth it.
  4. Hundred weeds or a hundred wishes!
  5. You’re going to come across people in your life who will say all the right words at all the right times. But in the end, it’s always their actions you should judge them by. It’s actions, not words, that matter.
  6. The more you know who you are and what you want, the less you let things upset you.
  7. And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you. Because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.
  8. What defines us is how well we rise after falling.
  9. Love this angle on "not enough"
  10. In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.
  11. Sometimes, God lets you hit rock bottom, so that you will discover that He is the rock at the bottom.
  12. If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose.
  13. Our lives are storybooks that we write for ourselves; wonderfully illustrated by the people we meet.
  14. No matter how many times you’ve blown it, God’s grace is bigger than your mistakes and His plans for you are perfect.this is a truth.
  15. We are the silver lining in any and every dark cloud we could ever find. There is no need to go looking for the light when you bring it with you.
  16. Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, and don’t put up with people that are reckless with yours.
  17. Keep your head up
  18. People think that being alone makes you lonely, but I don’t think that’s true. Being surrounded by the wrong people is the loneliest thing in the world.
  19. I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.
  20. You’ll meet only a few people in your whole life who are truly abandoned houses- rundown, worn out, collapsing at the seams. I’m not asking you to take a hammer and nails and pin up their rafters, fix their leaky faucets, or put new panes of glass in their broken windows; I’m asking you to simply open their door, and spend a little time memorizing their floor plan. Get to know them. And when the time comes, I want you to draw back their curtains and, once and for all, let the light in.
  21. Guys should have to touch your heart and mind first, before he touches your body.
  22. Religion is man, searching for God, but Christianity is God, searching for man, which is why salvation is freely mine, forgiveness is my own. Not based on my efforts, but because of Christ’s obedience alone.  In every other aspect of life, you know that logic is unworthy. It’s like saying that you play for the Lakers, just because you bought a jersey.
  23. Constant reminders are sometimes necessary...    "Remind yourself that it's okay not to be perfect."
  24. God doesn’t love a future you, He loves you today. Because our whole lives, we’ve feasted on sin, and we couldn’t pay the tab. Yet, Jesus walks over to our bill, and says “I’ll take care of that.”

What You Need to Know About Modeling

Modeling isn’t like it was in the 80’s, yet a lot of people still seemed to have this 80’s perception of modeling. Ebony and Jet Magazine hold open auditions for runway models but they tell you that you have to be 5’10” to audition. Isn’t that a little extreme? Tyra Banks is a little more reasonable. To audition for her show “America’s Top Model” you only have to be 5’7”. Because of this so many women out there who want to model say that they aren’t tall enough or shaped right. What is tall enough or shaped right?
In the 90’s something started happening in the world of modeling. We started opening up magazines and seeing women with bigger butts and bigger bust sizes. We started seeing swimsuit models. What are swimsuit models?
There are now many different types of models. Print, commercial, fashion, import or car, runway and of course swimsuit modeling are among the list of categories that are recognized by many agencies and people in the industry. So don’t sell yourself short by thinking that you don’t meet the standards to be a model. In today’s industry models are setting their own standards. Look at Ki Toy or Vida Guerra. They are far from traditional models. And what about the infamous Dove Girls? On a more local landscape, import modeling hosts some of the shortest models in the industry. Oh and how could I forget to mention the lovable Tila Tequila of Myspace?
With these vast changes in the modeling world, doors are being opened for people of all shapes and sizes. There is a demand for models from every walk of life. Getting your foot in the door is no longer the arduous task it once was. So dream big, take chances, shoot for the stars and set the standard. Charge on and don’t take no for an answer. Determination, more than anything else, is the deciding factor between people who succeed and people who fail. Become a model and help others learn to appreciate their own beauty also.
There are many different types of agencies that represent models. Identifying a legitimate agency can be a difficult task in itself. Then when you find a legitimate agency you end up having to shell out hundreds of dollars to have your portfolio made. In other cases that agency turns out to actually be a school and you still have to shell out hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Now your dream career has become an expensive hobby.
Finding a free agency has proven to be a very lucrative option. Many of these agencies will not charge you for services until you have been connected with opportunities. You simply model for their use as they try to get you hooked up with magazines, clothing companies, and top modeling agencies that may never notice you without the help of a local agent. These agencies are based upon “sweat equity” – the more effort you contribute to your success, the more successful the agency will be in establishing a great portfolio for you. They offer great solutions to getting you into the industry without the hardship of high costs.

Up Close With Evelyn Lim

by Sumandak
She’s bubbly, energetic, and ambitious sumandak from Papar, Sabah. Evelyn Lim, 25, has never take the easy way out every time when she stumbled into difficult situation. I’m not going to blab any longer, let’s get up close with her. Unless you are happy to read my nonsensical article in a more rojak (mixed) Sabahan slang. Nanti-nanti laitu kio~
Just a short bio on her (I won’t let you have her phone number tho… LOL!):
Name: Evelyn Lim
Age: 25 years old
Place of Birth: Papar Hospital, Sabah
Hometown: Papar, Sabah
Hobbies: To be occupied with or concentrating on a particular activity
Experience: Modeling, Actress, Beauty Pageant.
Sumandak: What is your most hysterical or ridiculous school memory that you’ve ever gotten into?
Evelyn Lim: I cannot recall any of it because I consider that my school memory has always been awesome! I do not let myself to get into trouble and I usually try to fix everything before it gets even worst.
Sumandak: What are five things you can’t live without?
Evelyn Lim: There are several things that I can’t live without: handphone, laptop, family, my man (boyfriend), and the most important thing is my organizer! (laughing)
Sumandak: What’s your motto/advice you live by?
Evelyn Lim: I’d say that it has to be with not even to stop yourself from doing whatever you want to do. We should always allow problem to ‘hit’ us so that we’re able to learn to face the problem and not just run from it. They are just part of our life that makes our life wonderful and riveting!
Sumandak: Your favorite song/s to belt out at the bar? In the car? At karaoke?
Evelyn Lim: I’m more to R&B Soul person and I’m hooked on all Bruno Mars‘ songs apart from Babyface‘s Sorry For The Stupid Things, and Ne-Yo‘s One In A Million.
Sumandak: Ten years from now you will be…
Evelyn Lim: The first thing that popped out of my mind is ‘I’m getting older!’ (Laughing)Who knows what I might be in ten years later. Que Sera Sea, whatever will be, will be. I might become a well-known person by then. At least I’m not well-known for ‘famous last words’. I really hope that all my efforts and my passion will be paid off. My mission is to have my own label, Evelyn Lim Events (E.L.E), and to have my own local modeling academy, something like Broadwalk Model Academy, or Image Model Academy. I hope I don’t cry for the moon, anyway. (Laughing)
Sumandak: When did you realize that modeling was your passion and that you needed to this as a career? How did you get into this?
Evelyn Lim: It all started when I pushed my luck to participate in Unduk Ngadau(beauty pageant) in conjunction with Klang Valley’s Tadau Kaamatan (Harvest Festival) in 2007. The person who is responsible to bring me into this profession is none other than Albert Oliver, a professional fashion designer who were looking for some people to parade his collection in Kuala Lumpur and Sabah. From that day onwards, I realized that my passion is to be on-stage. I received lots of offers from others after that; runway, acting, photo-shoot, beauty pageant, and being usherette in Kuala Lumpur, Johore Bahru, Singapore, and Sabah. I’m very happy that I’ve been doing it for 4 years now.
Sumandak: When was the moment you realized ‘okay I made it’?
Evelyn Lim: It all happened when I had to get my Evelyn Lim Events (E.L.E) an official event management license from Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK). I had to rush here and there just to have all things settled in just a day. And yes, I had to use the money which I’ve won from a beauty contest that I’ve joined recently – Dreamgirl Moretune’s Miss SPCA 2011. I am so lucky to have both of my friends, Appy Tots, andRoger Teo who have been very supportive all this while.
Sumandak: What is the hardest obstacle that you’ve had to overcome?
Evelyn Lim: I lost my father when I was just 12 years old and I couldn’t bare to see my mother who had to earn for living all by herself. It really torn my heart as she had to struggle for the 4 of us. In order to lessen her burden, I had to become the backbone of my family. I had to work at my very young age just to help my mother. I have always skipped my meal back then just to ensure that my siblings will never feel the way that I feel at that time. It was really heart-wrecking. However, all those hardships have actually turned me into a  stronger person today which I’m very grateful for it. Now I can smile as I watch all my siblings are on their way to have to have their Degrees.
Sumandak: Care to share with your current project/s?
Evelyn Lim: I’ve just set up my own event management business and have a lots of projects going on at the moment. Apart from it is Voice Of Soul (V.O.S) 2011. It’s a singing competition which has eventually received nearly 60 participants from all over Sabah. Me and my E.L.E crews are very surprised with the widespread support and that’s what has motivated us to do even better! Our next project will be fashion catwalk or runway! I can’t hardly wait to do the next project!
Sumandak: Your advice to all inspired young models out there.
Evelyn Lim: Everyone wants to be a model but not all have the real passion on it. No matter how far we’d gone along the path, don’t ever forget the real you. Don’t ever let the fame change you even a bit. Remember that you will always be you even the world falls into pieces.
You can always get close with Evelyn on her Facebook Page… Ya, like saja bah…

A New Beginning

I went to meet with my course facilitator just now as I need to submit my assignments before the due date. It was pretty hot today, and I wasn't allowed to drive myself to the college. My parents sent me out to study again as they believe I need to get rid of that 'Logiut' out of my life. Life has been hard (and difficult) lately. I have to stand up again, and I need to make sure that his request is fulfilled - He has asked me to divorce him (what kind of man is that? To ask a divorce from his wife?). It's a 'pang' to my life but I'm thankful enough from the people around me who have asked me to grant his wishes. I wish him to be able to lead a happy life with the women (not only 1) that he wished to be with. Me? I'm going to struggle, and be strong for my 3 months daughter. I can do it, as a single mom!

Mum fetched me from the college a few minutes after I called her. She bought me to have our lunch at 1Borneo. Luckily, Dad and bro were at home to babysit the baby. Great. I can spend more time shopping for myself after a few months of 'jailing' myself in the house, thinking of what other people might say or even write over their Facebook, or Twitter - I screen captured every single of their tweets, anyway. For what? To remind myself that these people really exist, and they are very judgemental in their own way. Masih bujang tapi berlagak macam sudah pernah rasa sakit beranak. Please lah!

Here's my lunch... Enough to give me energy for my workout later in the evening.

After we finished our lunch, I went to buy a new spectacles as the previous one sudah rosak because I threw it when I was pretty angry with Logiut for being so childish. Sikit-sikit ada masalah terus bilang 'BALIK TAMPARULI'. WTF! At least sia berpuas hati selepas tumbuk muka si pondan for being a liar and Logiut. Siapa suruh terlampau pintar ada skandal masa orang sarat mengandung. I allow you to insult me for being so unsexy (and you said you would divorce me if I couldn't get my pre body shape).

Oh well... Tidak seteruk macam orang lain juga bah... Heheheh~

Why Women Lie?

There are no doubts that women are telling lies – considerably and often. But so men do the same. Allthough women can easily catch a lying man – he said that there was an important party with clients organized in his workplace, but he just went to the gin-shop with his friends. Or he boasts about his skills in papering walls, but he only damaged the room. Or he swears he had taken a dog for a walk though actually he was watching a basketball match.
Considering experimental data men lie 4-5 times more than women. But women do everything in a more professional way, because they can be proud of having a great oratory skills.Thats why many pauses emerge in a speech and men usually fulfill it with various “hmm”, “eee”, etc. And women’s stream of consciousness is so rapid that they doesn’t need to make any breaks.
An experiment was made by a few researchers from the University of Massachusetts to answer the questions about the lie of both genders and ascertain if it differs from one another. Robert Feldman gives such a results: “women lie in order to make her company feel comfortable, while men lie by seeking to create a better image about themselves. In addition, women feel the boundaries of tactical lie very subtle. Mostly they vapour in an elegant way without making others to feel angry or resentful. Sadly, but the lie of men often is very bold, rough and hurtful.”
Women were dependent on somebody’s will in human history from time out of mind. Usually it was her husband. Women learn and fall into a habit to tell a lie by saying the things that men want to hear. Take the statistics for example – 50% of women lie to their partners they had experienced an orgasm. It even became a reflex, but not trustworthy information. The truth is that no matter how self-sufficient and arrogant she could be, but always will need someone to trust and weep on the shoulder. Women lie, because they doesn’t feel safe.
Researchers claim that more often women lie about their sexual experience. They usually minimize the quantity of her partners and maximize the age speaking about her first time. This could be considered as a consequence of public belief that girl should be naïve, vestal and faithful. It is like a inside wish of all the men. For this reason, women will keep her countenance about her sexual past. Unless she would be already decided to leave him and would be standing in the doorway.
Women seek to be accepted not only in their workplaces, but also in the circle of her friends. They try to hide the mistakes, failures and emphasize the episodes of success. Thats the reason why even the easiest tasks they describe as a very hard ones. For the same reason women lie about their appearance – a few kilograms lower her weight, permanent make-up or plastic operations. Or even the slimmest models who claim they doesn’t take any of the diets and eat a half of cake every evening. After all, it is much more pleasant and spectacular to be perfect from the birth than to buy or make beauty using artificial methods, sometimes even injurious to health. Women doesn’t even consider such things as lies, they prefer to think that its just more smart to keep your beauty secrets private and personal and if someone asks, just say that you simply love healthy lifestyle.
Women are afraid to be different or so called “white crow” in a group of people. For example, even before going to any party they like to be asure how everybody will look like and what will be the “dress code” of guests. Women ask almost everyone they know to tell about their dressesor shoes. Accordingly, in the company where people earn good money women swallow about their smaller salaries but around poorly earned friends they hardly concede that their one day rate can exceed others one month salary. Such a lie can be related with a need of safeness. If you “drop of the context” you will become lonely.
